This website will give you information about Becoming an Art Teacher.  We offer a Certification Course, Teacher Training Workshops, In-Service Training Programs, and classes for credit in Professional Development. Educational Materials and Lesson Plans designed by Mona Brookes, the founder of Monart Drawing Schools and the author of Drawing With Children are available in all of the classes.

The curriculum includes:
• Arts Oriented Learning Programs and Educational Materials
• Academically Based Drawing Curriculum and lesson plans for PRE-SCHOOL through ADULT age groups
• In-Service Training Workshops for Parents and Teachers
• A Certification Course which teaches you to use her methods in your own business model

The methods are geared for use by:
• Public, Private or Charter School Teachers
• Professors who teach Early Childhood Development and Art Education courses
• Montessori, Independent and ESL Teachers
• Home School Parents and Teachers
• Individuals who work with groups of children and parents who work at home with their children

All of the training classes are taught by Mona Brookes personally at her Berkeley Monart Center in California. The educational materials and lesson plans that accompany the different training programs can be purchased at the workshops.
